Note to personal friends of Peter and Patti:  This page really is not for you.  We had a need from our office to post some information on the web for our CLM Staff.  So you are welcome to look at the information below but please do not be concerned if it does not make sense to you.

Note to CLM Staff:  We had planned to make this transition over a period of weeks but our LeaderNet server died on May 26th which forced us to make this change now.  Daryl Wilson has gone to great lengths to post this info for you.  If you are careful and follow all 5 phases  you should have no problem getting you email once again.  Thank you for your patience.

3.

Open your replicator page.

4. Click the button at the top of the page just over the blue arrows that says "Other Actions"  Select from the drop down menu "Replicate with Server" It will ask which server.  Select CLMNet/CLM.  This may take a while.

5.

Click the button (with the arrow) on your mail replication document.

6.

Click on the drop down menu and select the options so that it matches what follows, then click the OK button.

5.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every entry on your replicator page that you have enabled (i.e. the little white box is checked).

6 If this doesn't work for the Server Directory Catalog then you will need to delete the Server Directory Catalog and replicate it from CLMNet.  For the complete process please follow the directions below (copied from the Contacts help database on the CLMNet server).

You may need to recreate your local replica of the Server Directory Catalogue. On the CLMNet/CLM server, this file is named, "sdc.nsf." On your hard drive, it is named either "sdc.nsf" or "mdc.nsf".

PLAN A

1. Launch Notes.

2. Open your Replicator page.

3. Remove the entry for Server Directory Catalog. (Left click it once, then hit the Delete key on your keyboard.)

4. Exit Notes.

5. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, delete your local replica of sdc.nsf (or mdc.nsf) from your hard drive (C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\sdc.nsf). Please make note of whether or not your local replica was named sdc.nsf or mdc.nsf. More on that later

6. Restart Notes.

7. Open sdc.nsf on CLMNet/CLM with the commands, File | Database | Open.

In the Server box, type in clmnet.clm.org and click Open.

Make the Open Database dialogue box look like below, then click Open.

8. Create a new replica of the Server Directory Catalog. (File | Replication | New Replica)

9. Server should be Local. Check the Create Immediately option, then click OK.

10. If your local replica of the Server Directory Catalog was named, sdc.nsf, you can skip this step. You are finished.

If your local replica was named, mdc.nsf, do the following.

Click File | Preferences | User Preferences.

Click the Mail and News button.

Change the Local address books entry to match the graphic below. Then click the OK button.

PLAN B

Follow the steps in Plan A except that in Step 5 you need to add one more delete. Delete the folder called, C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\sdc.ft

(This is the folder containing the SDC's index files. Sometimes the index gets out of step with the new replica you have just made, so you are deleting the index and allowing Notes to recreate it afresh.)

Also, in step 9, check the option, Create full text index for Searching before clicking OK. (This will replace what you deleted above.)

After finishing the rest of the steps in Plan A, try the SDC in a new memo. You may notice that it takes a long time to find a name for type-ahead. I believe that this is because your local index for the SDC is being rebuilt. If this happens, leave Notes idle for several minutes to allow the indexing. You can check on progress by using Windows Explorer to see if the C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\sdc.ft folder has been recreated yet. When it has, exit and re-launch Notes, then try the SDC again.
